A new graduate of a prestigious New York medical school who earns $1,000,000 a year in her second year of school is earning enough to get a mortgage payment.
The New York City-based New York Academy of Medicine in Queens is offering graduates $500,000 each year to teach medicine.
The academy also provides medical students a stipend to support living expenses.
The academy has more than 1,600 graduates, according to its website.
The graduates are paid as follows:Doctoral Students (up to $1.2 million)$1.15 millionMedician Assistant (up up to $600,000)$450,000Medical Student (up from $250,000 to $750,000)*$1,300,000New York Medical School said its new program is an effort to provide medical students with a meaningful opportunity to earn money to help support them while they work toward their degrees.
“The program is intended to support medical students and provide them with the opportunity to become involved in the community, learn the latest health care innovations, and provide educational opportunities to students,” the academy said in a statement.
The school said it hopes to expand the program and provide it to more students.
It said the program is designed to help students get ahead in their careers by providing them with opportunities to become part of a community of professionals and professionals in the healthcare industry.
“We are grateful to our graduates and are working to expand our program and continue to provide it for medical students to help them achieve their career goals,” the school said.
