Health authorities in France are warning that some herbal medicine products have been causing allergic reactions.
In recent months, the health ministry has issued more than 20 alerts on herbal products that have triggered allergic reactions and even death.
The agency says some products contain ingredients that can cause a potentially fatal reaction to the skin.
French authorities have also issued a warning for some herbal products and are looking into their ingredients.
The new product warnings were issued to manufacturers of herbal products with ingredients known to cause allergic reactions, including some products made with licorice and rosemary.
Health authorities say these ingredients are not safe for children, adults or pregnant women.
The warning does not apply to the use of other herbal remedies, including those that contain ingredients not considered safe for use in children, pregnant women and people with chronic allergies.
The ministry is also considering introducing new regulations on the use and sale of herbal medicines and mask products that contain these ingredients.
